Web Service Improvements: Save your custom fields for any record

A popular request from those of you who use our APIs is the ability to save your own custom fields when creating or updating contacts or orders. To date it's only been possible to retrieve this information. However now you can pass information for any custom CRM form and have these updated for a record in your CRM database.

Categorize your blog posts

As part of the improvements we are making to our blogs functionality we've added the ability to categorize your blogs posts. Categorizing blog posts is simliar to tagging however it is more structured. To learn more and to categorize and/or tag your blog posts go to Website->Blogs. You can create and manage your list of categories via Admin->Manage Categories.

Once you've categorized your blog posts simply drop {tag_blogcategorylist} on your blog layout. You can customize your blog via Admin->More Customization Options->Blog Layouts.

We have a number of other exciting blog improvements in the pipeline which we will be rolling out in the coming weeks.

New Blog Improvements

We're in the process of rolling out a number of major enhancements to our blog functionality! The first improvement affects how your blog navigation works. Until recently we've relied on Ajax for a faster and smoother user experience. However due to popular demand we've changed this behavior and have removed the Ajax functionality. We've also introduced search engine friendly URLs for category and tags which previously only worked via Ajax. For all customers who've been requesting this feature we hope you enjoy these improvements.

We've made some significant changes to the system that should result in better performance of the Administration interface. You should see most areas of the Admin to load significantly faster and respond much more quickly. We hope you enjoy the new improvements.

We've made a number of enhancements throughout the system including:
  • Export any reports in PDF, Excel or CSV format (previously only in Excel)
  • Archive Campaign lists and unclutter your screen - useful for the serious online marketers
  • Configure Web Forms to respond in JSON rather than HTML.
  • We've also updated Customers->Cases so the discussion thread for each case is display on the main page (previously pop-up) and takes on a speech bubble appearance for easier reading
